2型糖尿病における末梢動脈拍動の消失は主要な大血管障害、死亡率、心不全などにおいて独立した危険因子である。→非侵襲的かつ時間的・経済的負担の少ない末梢動脈の触診を日常臨床で積極的に行うことで、合併症の早期発見、治療に役立つ可能性がある。
