糖尿病合併症妊娠における先天奇形の頻度は一般人口に比べ、3 倍高値であった。しかし、妊娠早期 HbA1c 7 ％以下であっても、一般人口に比べ 2 倍、先天奇形のリスクは高値であった。奇形発生には平均血糖以外の要因の影響が考えられる。
