非ＨＩＶ患者でも高齢、ＰＭ、免疫抑制薬使用といった軽度の免疫能低下であってもサイトメガロウイルス網膜炎を発症する。前房水のＰＣＲ、眼底所見、既往歴など含め診断し、適切な抗ウイルス治療薬の投与が網膜炎悪化につなげないことになる。
