中等度～高度の閉塞性睡眠時無呼吸症候群を有する女性に、CPAP 療法を 12 週間使用すると、保存的に加療した群と比較して拡張期血圧が有意に低下した。収縮期血圧、血糖、脂質は変化しなった。

日本人 2型糖尿病肥満患者を対象とした、腹腔鏡下スリーブ胃切除十二指腸バイパス術は中期的（ 5 年）に優れた体重減少と血糖改善効果を示し、その効果は腹腔鏡下 Roux-en-Y 胃バイパス術と同等考えられた。
