中等度から重度の腎機能障害があっても腎機能に見合った量であればメトホルミン血中濃度は上昇せず、乳酸値も正常であった。リスクが高い場合は血中乳酸値を測定する。5 mmol/L 以上はメトホルミン投与を中止したほうがよい。
