・膵臓疾患に続いて発症する糖尿病は、血糖コントロール不良および早期インスリン治療と有意に関連付けられるが、外分泌膵臓の糖尿病としては稀にしか識別されない。・臨床医は、最初に糖尿病に罹患したときに患者が膵臓病の病歴を有するかどうかを明らかにし、外分泌膵臓の糖尿病の診断を考慮に入れる必要がある。

糖尿病患者において、感染症が死の引き金となった原死因と捉えた場合と、死につながった様々な要素のうちの1つと捉えた場合を比較した時、前者のアプローチでは感染症の死への影響を過小評価している可能性があることが示唆された。

アムロジピン群と比べ、fimasartan群は高血圧を伴う2型糖尿病患者の遅延性の糖刺激性インスリン分泌を増加させた。この発見はARBが非高血圧患者にも有用であるかもしれないことを示唆している。
