2型糖尿病をもつ肥満患者の長期間のコントロールにおいて、肥満手術は薬物治療よりも効果的であり、手術を治療アルゴリズムに組み込むべきであるかもしれない。同時に手術群において高血糖の再発を予防するために、血糖コントロールのモニタリングは継続すべきである。
