Discussion：
血糖値を同程度にコントロールした条件下においても、エンパグリフロジンがインスリン治療と比較してβ細胞機能およびインスリン感受性を改善することが示された。
これらの結果は、SGLT2阻害薬の効果が単なる血糖低下、すなわち糖毒性の改善のみによるものではないことを示唆した。
